Brett and Joel, co-founders of Purple, are a father-son team. Brett’s drug use as a teenager led them into the recovery experience.
The transformative power of that experience challenged both of them to want to do more.

Supporting the family during this process is a top priority at Purple.
Each member of Purple’s team is equipped to help the family by keeping you up-to-date on his progress, providing communication to court and legal services and answering the dozens of questions that arise during the first few weeks.
While there are many approaches to treating addiction, Purple’s approach to recovery is to restore the individual through an active recovery lifestyle. A Purple guy discovers anew the full potential of his life by engaging in a supportive community and challenging himself to do and be more than he once thought possible.

Purple’s intensive, six month residential program promotes successful, long-term recovery through its gradual step down in intensity.
The discovery of recovery is an experience that includes group challenge, personal responsibility and brotherhood. Purple’s research proven, intensive, 4-6 month residential program promotes successful long-term recovery through its gradual step down in intensity prior to independent apartment living. The clients are immersed into a recovering community of graduates (alumni) and staff, responding to client needs in real time.
Each person participates in daily morning reflection, life skills development and five weekly intensive group sessions that provide an opportunity to address addiction issues and to mark their progress in their recovery plan. Daily attendance at 12 Step meetings builds the foundation for their ongoing long-term recovery.

Twice monthly, Purple’s family coordinator meets with families, guiding them as they engage in their own recovery journey.
These groups are fueled by exploration and hopefulness.
Saturday Afternoon Workshops
Every month several staff members facilitate a Saturday afternoon workshop. This is a time to go deeper, ask your probing questions and travel at your son’s side on this amazing journey of recovery.

The purpose of the admission process is to ensure that our program is a good match for each client.
This process begins with a telephone conversation where we can explain our program and what we expect of each client. During this conversation we are also making a determination if the potential client is ready to make the changes in his life that sobriety and recovery require.
The next step is a face-to-face interview. This allows both of us to further determine if our program is suitable with the needs of the client.
At that point, a decision is made by each of us whether to proceed. If the client decides to begin our program, he can usually begin immediately.ADMISSION DOCUMENTS

While the first six months are spent building the foundation of a recovery lifestyle, the next six months build upon that foundation as they discover anew their passions, hopes and dreams.
During this time they are encouraged to regularly connect with the Purple Community. Whether engaged in activities, exploring real-time issues in Aftercare or just sharing the love, one-on-one, over a late night talk.

Purple’s staff is a mix of Certified Addiction Counselors and highly qualified peer recovery guides. This mix of education and personal recovery experience provides for an experience that is authentic and credible.
As a recovery center, Purple looks to the Georgia Association of Recovery Residences (GARR) for oversight and guidance in maintaining quality standards. GARR is the local affiliate with the National Alliance for Recovery Residences. Purple is proud of our long-standing membership as an “Approved” recovery residence.
Purple is also certified by the Georgia Board of Pardons and Parole. For guys with court issues or probation this provides the court officials confidence that Purple is a safe and certified facility.
